NOTE: Wait at least 3 minutes before starting work.

Driver's Airbag - Remove
1.
Insert a punch (A) (diameter of 5.5 mm) through the left hole of the steering wheel cover and push the spring (B) to release the front airbag pin (C) while pulling out the airbag. Repeat for the right side.

Pull up on both locking tabs (D) to disconnect the connector (E).
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the connectors.

Disconnect the connector (F).
4.
Remove the driver's airbag (G).

Spring - Removal (If necessary)

1.
Remove the springs (A) from the steering wheel (B).
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the steering wheel.

Spring - Install (If necessary)

1.
Install the springs (A) to the steering wheel (B).
NOTE:
The springs are different between the left and right side. Note the orientation during installation (single inflator type).
Make sure that the springs are installed properly.
2.
Driver's Airbag - Install
1.
Connect the connectors (A).

2.
Install the driver's airbag (B) by pushing it in until you hear a click.
NOTE: Confirm that the front airbag pins (C) are securely mounted to the springs (D).
3.
Make sure the clearance (A) between the steering wheel and horn pad is the specified value.
4.
After connecting the negative cable to the 12 volt battery, make sure the horn works properly.

SRS Operation - Confirm
1.
Do the 12 volt battery terminal reconnection procedure, turn the vehicle to the ON mode, and check that the SRS indicator comes on for about 6 seconds and then goes off.
