Rear Knuckle/Hub Bearing Unit Removal and Installation
1. Knuckle/Hub Bearing Unit - Exploded View

Exploded View



NOTE:
Refer to the Exploded View as needed during the following procedures.
Check for deterioration and damage to each part during removal.
Unless otherwise indicated, illustrations used in the procedure are for AWD model.

Hub Bearing Unit


NOTE: Only necessary if the automatic parking brake function is turned on.

4. Brake Hose Bracket Mounting Bolt - Remove


5. Brake Caliper - Remove

NOTE:
To prevent damage to the caliper assembly or brake hose, use a short piece of wire to hang the caliper assembly from the undercarriage.
Do not twist the brake hose excessively.

8. Hub Bearing Unit - Remove

NOTE:
Use new bolts during reassembly.
Keep the wheel bearing/encoder away from any magnetic field. The encoder can be damaged or erased.

9. Hub Bearing Unit for Damage and Cracks - Check


10. All Removed Parts - Install

Install all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

12. Hub Bearing Unit - Remove


13. Splash Guard - Remove



NOTE: Do not disconnect the wheel speed sensor connector.

15. Rear Damper - Disconnect


16. Knuckle - Remove

2WD

AWD
NOTE:
Use new bolts and nuts during reassembly.
During installation, tighten the trailing arm mounting bolts (A) in the numbered sequence shown.

17. All Removed Parts - Install

Install all removed parts in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE: Loosely install nuts and/or bolts to install the bushings, load the suspension with the vehicle’s weight, and then tighten the nuts and/or bolts to the specified torque.
