Air Cleaner and Air Cleaner Element

Air Cleaner - Remove
2.
Air Cleaner Housing Cover - Remove
3.
Air Cleaner Element - Remove
4.
All Removed Parts - Install
1.
Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE:
If the idle speed fluctuates, do the idle speed inspection
.
5.
Maintenance Minder - Reset (With Maintenance Minder System)
1.
If the Maintenance Minder required to replace the air cleaner element,
reset the Maintenance Minder with the gauge
(see "Resetting the Maintenance Minder").
Intake Air Resonator
1.
Air Cleaner - Remove
2.
Steering Joint - Disconnect
3.
Engine Undercover - Remove
4.
Exhaust Pipe A - Remove
5.
Connectors (EPS Subharness) - Disconnect
6.
Lower Arm Ball Joint - Disconnect
7.
Tie-Rod End Ball Joint - Disconnect
8.
Front Stabilizer Link Ball Joint - Disconnect
9.
Propeller Shaft - Remove (AWD)
10.
Transfer Assembly - Remove (AWD)
11.
Lower Torque Rod - Remove
12.
Front Subframe - Support
13.
Front Subframe - Remove
14.
Left Front Inner Fender - Remove
NOTE: Remove the appropriate portion of the left front inner fender.
15.
Intake Air Resonator - Remove
16.
All Removed Parts - Install
1.
Install the parts in the reverse order of removal.
17.
Wheel Alignment - Check
1.
Air Cleaner Element - Inspect
1.
Check the air cleaner element for damage or clogging. If it is damaged or clogged, replace it.
NOTE: Do not use compressed air to clean the air cleaner element.
2.
Clean and remove any debris from inside the air cleaner.
